Re:modern on HGTV Room Crashers

Re:modern guest designs a space for HGTV Room Crashers

Re:modern guest designs a space for HGTV Room Crashers

Tune in to HGTV to see an outdated bedroom transformed into an indoor/outdoor master retreat. Re:modern was invited to be a guest designer for the network’s popular ‘Room Crashers’ show and our episode #212 premieres Sunday, April 1st. Check your local listings for show times and re-broadcasts.

You won’t want to miss this episode! We packed the design full of design goodness such as: a vertical living wall, a new Garapa wood deck, a custom storage headboard made from recycled car seat leather, bypassing doors made from recycled fence boards, and even a hand-crocheted t-shirt rug. It’s a must watch!

Follow us on Facebook for additional photos that we will post after the show airs.

Living Space Sneak Peek

January 19th, 2012

We recently designed an interior for a very vibrant individual and mixed up bold patterns, textures, and colors to the extreme. The space was completely over the top and fabulously cozy at the same time.  We packed the space with a blend of handmade, vintage, and modern design goodness. Here are some sneak peak images featuring lovely wallpaper by Abigail Edwards, Hygge & West’s Oh Joy! collection and glimmery recycled tile from EcoHome Improvement. You may even recognize how we repurposed a salad bowl from Re:modern’s own collection to make a colorful planter for succulents.

The finished project will be revealed on January 29th on Home and Garden Television. Tune in to HGTV, 11:30am E/P time to watch, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more updates!

Offsetting Carbon Emissions

December 31st, 2011
What one ton of CO2 looks like

What one ton of CO2 looks like

It’s become an annual tradition for us now to sit down at year’s end, calculate how much carbon we use from daily activities, then partner up with Carbonfund to offset those emissions. Many people don’t realize that just about every action we do has carbon implications where emissions go into the atmosphere and contribute to global warming.  This includes everything from daily commutes, to turning on the computer, to transporting packages.  As a committed green business, Re:modern donates money every year to offset what we generate, and more!

For 2012, we’ve contributed enough to offset 36 metric tons of CO2 emissions that would otherwise have gone into the atmosphere. How much is 36 metric tons of carbon dioxide, you ask? Well, this model (see photo) by a science teacher and his students at Cohasset High School measures 27′ x 27′ x 27′ and demonstrates just one metric ton of C02. That’s a lot of carbon!
